Registration of Imported Horses from Iceland

Registering your imported Icelandic horse represents a vital part of USIHC's mission statement: To keep a Registry of purebred Icelandic Horses in the United States.

How to register your imported horse from Iceland

After importing your Icelandic horse, you will want to make sure you have the following documents to register them with the USIHC:

    1. Certificate of Ownership from Iceland which will be stamped and returned to you along with the Certificate of Registration issued by the USIHC Registry. Passport can be sent too to be stamped but is not required.
    2. DNA on file with our agency if the horse is a mare or a stallion. This is not needed for geldings.
    3. Completed and signed Imported Horse Application
    4. Payment or proof of PayPal payment

Please mail these documents to:

Ásta Covert, USIHC Registrar
P.O. Box 1724
