Riding Clinic with Guðmundur Margeir Skúlason

“Steps for Starting a Horse through to Competition” a Riding Clinic with Guðmundur Margeir Skúlason

Hosted by Harmony Icelandics March 28-30, 2020

Trainer Guðmundur Skúlason (Mummi) will teach us the methods he uses to start a young
horse and lead it all the way to high level competition. Whether you want to trail ride or compete, this is
the clinic for you. Every horse can benefit from a solid foundation. We will begin the morning with a
lecture and demonstration followed by private and group lessons.

Mummi is a licensed riding instructor and member of the Trainers Association of Iceland (FT). He is a
graduate of Hólar University College in Iceland with a degree in Equine Studies. Mummi breeds and
trains horses and riders at his farm Hallkellsstaðahlið in Western Iceland. He is in high demand as a
riding instructor and cliniian in Iceland, throughout Europe and in the United States. He places emphasis
on training methods which encourage the horse to cooperate willingly in a soft and sensible manner.
Mummi continues to be very active in competition and has won numerous prizes in various disciplines of
equine sports in Iceland.
